Baking Chemistry

DSC03021This activity was inspired by a donated book called “Messing Around With Baking Chemistry by Bernie Zubrowski .  Neighborhood Work Play Kids Theatre students learned math and science through a baking experience.  As they were guided through the process of baking bread together, they observed how yeast rises and bread dough expands.  They learned that there is  math and science in cooking and baking.  Students baked millet bread inspired by reading “Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters” by John Steptoe.
