Tutoring /Gardening
K-5 ( 5 -  10 years old) Tutoring and Gardening program is free for all students and operates March - June as an after school program Monday to Friday, 2:45pm to 5:45pm Registration begins in February. Students will be tutored in all subjects.  Email - neighborhoodworkplay@gmail.com

Students will be helped with work in their appropriate grades to understand and refine their skills to be successful in their grade, standardized tests and prepare for the next level.  Gardening will be a way for students to experience real life math, writing and art and nutrition. It’s also a way to teach students to eat a healthy diet with vegetables, fruits, protein, grains, and dairy foods.



Summer Program - June, July, August for K-5  (5-10 year olds)

Students are taught the following concepts in math: Number and Operations, Fractions, Measurement , Geometry, Algebraic Thinking

Concepts:  Reading, Literature, Informational Text, Writing, developing English language skills, In theater students will learn socio - emotional skills -  empathy, cooperation, problem solving, exposure to diverse cultures, languages and perspectives, explore community, civic engagement.  Students will enhance their learning by visiting museums, libraries, gardens, playgrounds  and neighborhoods.

Students will learn to eat a healthy diet with vegetables, fruits, protein, grains, and dairy foods. Students will grow a "garden to table."
Students will learn to understand why being active is important for their bodies and minds.
